LAUREN BEET

My work depicts Industrial Structures within the rural landscape that are perceived as scarring eyesores; I however see them as harmonious, majestic landmarks.  I aim to produce work that portrays how I feel about these controversial structures within the countryside and hope that others can begin to visualise them as I do and not envisage them in the stereotypical fashion of monstrosities.

I produce my work through a number of practises, but primarily through photography and printmaking, juxtaposing traditional methods to capture innovative technology.  I find that the processes within printmaking harmonise the industrial structures and by exemplifying them in this way, they appear established in their surroundings.
