RORY OLVER

Rory Olver (also known by the alias Ruaidhri Cromwell) is a British artist, currently based in Lincoln. Olver works with both traditional and modern-digital media, producing drawings and paintings in both. He also explores digital photography. Although his traditional and digital pieces are not typically mixed, the use of computer-based media has sometimes led to manipulation of his more classical work in mixed media art. Olver's art commonly shies away from contemporary styles and instead uses conventional techniques, with a large focus on observation, naturalism, and chiaroscuro lighting.

A common topic within Olver's work is the self: often looking inwards towards his own beliefs and experiences. The nude figure and dark atmosphere are also recurring subjects. Due to this combination of themes and content, Olver's work is frequently considered provocative.

In this exhibition, Olver will be utilising his digital capabilities to produce a digital projection involving glass.
